IMPORTANT TIPS AND ADVICE

I am sure you have a million questions about how to properly prepare yourself for your first session. I want to help you get started with a few riding essentials. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Making new connections and developing lasting therapeutic relationships with my clients is a passion of mine.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR THE FIRST SESSION?

ESSENTIAL FOOTWEAR IS IMPORTANT!

I require closed toed shoes, preferably boots. This helps protect your feet against dirt, moisture and an accidental step by the horses. Boots will also allow you to position your yourself correctly in the saddle and also allows riders to slip out of the stirrups easily.

HELMETS ARE DEFINITELY REQUIRED!

Helmets are not only required for my program but they should be in every riding program. I will provide helmets but may clients prefer to purchase their own. Helmets protect your head from any type of contact and add a level of confidence for the rider.

SO MUCH FUN, YOU WON'T WANT TO LEAVE!

For the first session, we will go over the barn layout, horse maintenance, horse safety, ground manners, horse care (including grooming) and how to use horse equipment properly and safely. Yes, it does sound like a lot but we will take it slowly so that you feel confident around the horses, equipment and property. Please know that you will never be alone so if any questions arise, I will be there to answer them.
