"Finding Hope In Their Hoofbeats"
Elena Roth MSW,LSW
I am a licensed Social Worker with my master’s and undergraduate degrees in social work. I also have High Honors from the Phi Alpha Honor Society for my study in the field. I have 10 years of experience working in the human services fields and have extensive experience working with children and adults through different transitions in their lives. Some of my specialties include: depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, parent/child conflict, and defining boundaries.
I gained the love of horses from my mother and ever since I was a little girl, I knew these animals were amazing. I was hooked! I have been riding since I was 5 years old. I rode on a collegiate team and founded the Millersville University Equestrian Team in 2007. I bought my very own horse when I was 21 years old! She was a rescue and taught me so much about resiliency and trust. I knew that my professional pursuits would have to include the power of healing through horses.
I founded By The Rein Equine Therapy in 2018 to offer the people the opportunity to find the healing power in horses. This is a unique service geared towards those struggling with a mental health condition, where traditional therapy hasn’t shown results. The connection between horses and humans have existed as long as time. I truly believe that horses are able to connect to the deepest level of our soul and thus help us find freedom in their grace.
